Holland Dance Festival

Ballethnic Dance company travels to Holland, Amsterdam to perform “WaltzTanGall” for the Holland Dance Festival. Gala performance will be on January 24th.
“WaltzTanGall” was originally set by Waverly T. Lucas II on the Alabama School of Fine Arts. The piece is an African percussion produced work with live drumming that has the Bass drums as the lead and the djembes as the foundation rhythms completely opposite from the standard methods. The sections are Movement One the “Waltz”, Movement Two the “Tango”, and Movement Three “Galloping”. This piece was originally experimented with violinists and then more successfully with violas which were more compatible to the drumming.
