Visage D’Afrique is a celebration of African American and African Dance Culture uniting Metropolitan Atlanta Dance Companies and drummers. This is a collaborative multi-generational performance that has featured Ballethnic Dance Company and Ballethnic Youth Ensemble, Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc., Uhuru Dancers, Inc., Giwayen Mata Elephant Leaders of Women and Edeliegba. The dances are enriched with live drumming from the regions favorite drummers.

Soul Survivors: Determination is a NEW theatrical dance and music production celebrating R&B and Soul Music. It’s an inspiring performance story created to expose future generations of young artists to music that both motivated and inspired. Soul Survivors celebrates music with a melody, a message, and live instrumentation. With a blend of African and Ballet danced choreography and original live soul music arrangements this show bridges the generational and racial divide.

Jazzy Sleeping Beauty

Jazzy Sleeping Beauty – Experience the joy of a colorful twist on a fairytale classic battle, as good conquers evil. In 2009, Ballethnic Dance Company presented the world premiere of Jazzy Sleeping Beauty. This new production was first performed in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 14th and 15th, 2007 by Ballet Tech Cincinnati. Waverly T. Lucas, II choreographed the ballet with the assistance of Ballethnic’s artistic team Nena Gilreath, Amy Hazlewood, Lamoi Hedrington, and Brittany Steele. Act I which takes place in 1840 features music from the original Tchaikovsky score, while Act II features a new Jazzy score composed by Mark Lomax of Cincinnati, Ohio and takes place 100 years later when Sleeping Beauty wakes up in 1940.

Flyin’ West – “The Ballet” is an adaptation of Pearl Cleage’s critically acclaimed play. It is a multi-media experience with a multi-generational cast of over 100. Choreographed by Waverly T. Lucas II, the Ballet features live music ranging from classical, African Drums to Techno music. It is a dramatic portrayal of survival in the West.
